The KFaktor review - Rossignol S7 & Blizzard Answer 2010/2011
Posted by Coop on 10/27/2010 to Prodcut Review 2010/2011

So here we are t-minus ten to POW Hunt’n season opens here in the great state of Lake Tahoe. News flash Colorado just opened and we are so ready… La Nina? Who knows? Well one thing for sure we’ve watched the movies, have read from front to back cover to cover every buyer’s guide and top wood award copy we can find… surfed every website and YouTube® video…

Here are two of my favorite Kirkwood Quiver Skis:

Rossignol S7: Size 195 (skis like an 183)

@ 145mm-115mm-123mm this ski rocks. The unique tapered shape & rocker design, called AmpTek  allows this ski to handle it all here at Kirkwood. I would have no problems pulling this out even on the 3” days. To sum this up in three words, Playful, Stable, float…. AmpTek features traditional camber with more progressive “rocker” at the tip and tail. This combination floats better in deep snow, turns in powder, and holds on the pack. It has it all.

Powder -Skiers Choice

@ 135mm -110mm-125mm this is another of the dream team. Must say I am kind of partial here as the Answer was my stick of choice for most of last season. With over 100 days on my 184 I did not find a condition this ski could not handle. From the pack to 3’ of blower I was impressed. Blizzard has struck a great balance between rock and side cut. Just enough to float and more than enough side cut to rail down Sentinel bowl on a hard day.  Let us not forget about the “Slider plate” here as well. Any binding, change mounting point with one screw! Go from a Duke to a Salomon S14 with one screw and 2 plates, center the mount or drop back for float. Three words, Stable, Lively, Exciting!  I was very surprised this was not in the Freeskier guide? Hmmm…..
Powder – “Simply stated, the Answer is the ultimate backcountry twin. Any questions?”
Ski Mag – “The Answer is a rockered Twin –Tip that is as lively as a fat ski can get!”

There are so many skis & boards to review this season. One thing for sure, we have them the top rides, ski or board and we have them at great savings for our pass holders! Login in now and “Never pay retail again”
More to come, lot’s to write. Two at a time…

Stay Thirsty,
Coop
